The Port Daniel station was built in 1908 by the AQWR (later CN). It has historical designation. The station was used until 2013 by VIA Rail until service was discontinued due to poor track conditions. The provincial government has made a commitment to make the necessary infrastructure repairs and restore the service. It is not known when that will be completed.
